Below are the correct procedures to follow during the installation of flanged meters model: Woltmann,WDE-K50, WDE, WCM, TAN-X5-I, WDC-R.
Additionally, it also includes the installation of multiple jet meters model GMDM-I DN50 flanged.
NOTE WELL: The meter must be placed in a location protected from weather conditions to ensure proper operation and measurement.
Below are the steps and assembly considering a Woltmann meter:
1) Before installation, it will be necessary to check the pipe terminals for mounting the device, verify that the filter at the inlet is clean and equipped with intact and clean gaskets on both sides.
2) Position the meter horizontally with the dial facing upwards.
NOTE WELL: Never install the meter with the dial facing downwards.
NOTE WELL: If necessary, the Woltmann meter can be installed in a vertical ascending or inclined position without any damage.
3) In cases of absolute necessity, it is possible to install the meter also in a vertical descending position, taking care to place a gate valve downstream of the device that should never be fully opened. This gate valve will ensure that the pipeline is always full of water.
4) During installation, ensure that the pipes are properly aligned (Fig.1, Fig.2)
5) At the time of commissioning the meter, it is recommended to adjust the opening of the two gate valves located on both sides to allow a correct water flow to avoid possible water hammer and thus damage the meter’s mechanics.
6) Regarding the devices installed upstream of the meter (gate valves, bends, elbows, reductions), you can find below the drawings showing the correct mounting schemes.
NOTE WELL: The indicated lengths are the minimum necessary for proper installation.
NOTE WELL: The letter D indicates the nominal diameter of the meter.
NOTE WELL: Installation of meters near pumps should be avoided as there is a possibility of water hammer, which can lead to turbine breakage and consequently to blocking of water measurement due to excessive pressure delivered inside the pipes on which the device is mounted.
